Agate, a natural material, has a rough texture around the circumference
edge, both surfaces front and back are smooth like glass with a varying
degree of transparency in the middle of the stone. Parallel wavy
concentric bands can be seen through the stone that add a feeling of
antiquity when engraved with an religious icon. With the mixture of
light and viewer angle the engraving will change through out the day. No
two stones are alike in color or shape.
